A week after announcing that it was entertaining a merger offer, Rohr Inc. said Monday that the discussions it was having with an unnamed company have been terminated.
Company officials would not give a reason for the decision and there were no details in a two-paragraph news release from Rohr, a Chula Vista, Calif.,-based company that operates 193-employee plant north of Hagerstown.
Last week, company officials said they were in merger discussions after rumors of the talks had caused volatility in Rohr's stock prices.
Rohr designs, integrates, manufactures, sells and supports aircraft engine casings and components for large commercial aircraft. The company reported revenues of $944 million last year.
