WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A Waynesboro Area Senior High School student was charged with simple assault and possession of a weapon on school grounds for threatening another student with a knife, Borough Police Sgt. Raymond Shultz said Wednesday.
The incident occurred on school property during the first week of school, Shultz said.
Robert Mesaros, schools superintendent for the Waynesboro Area School District, said the student has been expelled.
According to Shultz, witnesses told the assistant principal that a fight took place between the students and one pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened the other one.
The knife was not recovered, Shultz said.
A juvenile petition has been filed against the student in the Franklin County Juvenile Probation Department, Shultz said.
