Mail call

"This is in response to the whiners labeling the professional staff at Clear Spring Middle School as rude. This is obviously an irate, confused and irresponsible parent. I've been associated with the staff at Clear Spring Middle and would proudly say that they are without a doubt the most fantastic group, especially those on the sixth grade team. I cannot believe that you as a parent would call this fine group as rude people. Should you have a problem, be adult enough to discuss it with the staff or will you continue to mask yourself behind Mail Call? Don't feel hurt Clear Spring Middle School, you are the best. There are always whiners and then there's those who contact you only when their child does something wrong and receives just punishment. Keep up the good work and God bless you."

"This is to the one that received an eviction notice to move out at the end of the month. Thank God for small favors. It's about time this happened and you have no one to blame but yourself. You gave alcohol to the kids here and we want you gone. You're a menace to society and people like you should be banned in school zones. Get a life and leave our kids alone. Corrupt the one you have left and not ours. So long and good riddance."

"I would like to congratulate the mayor and council of Smithsburg. Eventually there's more behind this story than ever will be known. I feel it's a personal thing and a political thing that Mr. Bowers lost his job and now Mr. Tyler is behind a desk, which I can understand. He did make a mistake. I know Mr. Bowers and have worked with him in the past and I know many, many people in Smithsburg and they feel that he's done a fantastic job for the children and getting the drugs and helping with everything that he could possible do. You name it, he's done it. Everything has been good. He's made a couple of minor mistakes but I think he should be given a second chance but he's apparently not going to be. I see that his job is being advertised in the newspaper. Just sounds like the mayor and council are having a picnic over there. I don't feel that you all should be re-elected either when the time comes. I wish Tommy all the luck in the world on his next job and stick to your guns and take care of yourself."

"This is a resident from Smithsburg and we are fed up with the mayor's possessive power. She has possessive power of firing people that we dearly love in this town. Our officers we want back, her we want to go. This town is fed up with this mayor's possessive power. She's forcing her power just to destroy our police department and the people in this town are fed up. We want to know just what kind of officer would come out here to this town to put in for these jobs and would go against their fellow officer? We want what we had back. We don't want any other officers out here. We want what we had back and what we want is for the mayor to resign. We are fed up with her possessive power."

"One more comment about Smithsburg. In today's paper the driving force behind Tommy Bowers campaign Sherry Owen, says she has received seven traffic tickets including one for driving on expired tags from Deputy Tyler and none from Bowers. No wonder she supports Bowers, I would too if I couldn't drive."

"Hi Mail Call. I have a few comments. 1) To Kathleen Parker and her article on Princess Di, you go girl! 2) To Joseph Lynch and his problem with tailgaters. Do what I do, hit your brakes. If they hit you it's their fault. If they don't, it's a sure way to scare the heck out of someone. 3) To the comments made about my hero Dale Earnhardt falling asleep here's my solution - get the man some competition!

"I agree with the caller that called in the other day and said the kids and pets are taking over North Gate. The residents using out of state license plates as well as several county employees drive the wrong way on One Way Court. It used to be nice."

"After last Wednesday night's rain storm does anyone out there still believe the clouds are being seeded?"
