Fifth man arrested in Pa. shooting

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A fifth Chambersburg man has been charged in connection with the July 20 drive-by shooting that injured two, according to Chambersburg Police.

Nathan Loreman, 20, of 628 Pleasant St., was arrested Thursday at the Chambersburg Mall, police said.

Loreman is charged with hindering apprehension and making false reports, police said.

He was released on $25,000 bail, police said.

Four others have been charged in the 2:09 a.m. shooting on the corner of Hollywell Avenue and South Street.

Donald Troy Houser, 24, last known address at 30 W. South St., is charged with one count of criminal conspiracy, one count of criminal solicitation and one count of criminal attempt at homicide.

Carlos Rodriguez Johnson, 18, of the same address, is charged with three counts of criminal attempt at homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal conspiracy.


The same charges have also been filed against William C. "Woo" Houser, 17, last known address at 117 Garfield St., who was returned to Chambersburg on Aug. 21 after he was taken into custody on Aug. 19 in Wheeling, W.Va.

Police have also charged Waseem I. Malik, 19, of 956 S. Fifth St., with two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of aggravated assault.

A large group of people was standing on the sidewalk across from the Laurel Lodge IBPOE when a vehicle with an undetermined number of occupants crossed over the railroad tracks heading east and began firing into the crowd, police said.

Damon L. Bryant, 20, was shot in his left leg, shattering the femur, and Charles D. Green, 22, was struck in the chest and the left wrist, police said.
