Fire violation fixed

August 30, 1997

BOONSBORO - It took less than 24 hours for school system employees to correct a problem with Boonsboro Middle School's fire sprinkler system that led to a citation from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office on Tuesday.

"We had it all working that evening as promised," said Dennis McGee, director of facilities management for the Washington County school system.

The four faulty flow switches, which didn't signal the alarm system during a safety inspection, were working when the system was reinspected on Wednesday, according to a fire marshal's report.
