CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Del. Ron Walters, R-Kanawha, will dedicate the naming of the U.S. 340 bridge in honor of Revolutionary War soldier John Adam Link II on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Walters is the Republican leader of the House Finance Committee who grew up in Charles Town and is a descendant of Link.
Walters has spearheaded funding for many Eastern Panhandle projects, working with Del. John Doyle, D-Jefferson, Del. Dale Manuel, D-Jefferson, and Sen. Harry Dugan, R-Berkeley.
The U.S. 340 bridge serves as an overpass to the W.Va. 9 bypass.
The dedication is being held in conjunction with the Link family reunion at Uvilla Lutheran Church on Halltown Road between Shepherdstown and Halltown in Jefferson County.
