CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Three Chambersburg teenagers, one of whom is still at large, have been charged with a July 20 drive-by shooting that injured two people, according to Chambersburg Police.

Police are searching for William C. "Woo" Houser, 17, whose last known address was 117 Garfield St., who is believed to have fled the area shortly after the incident with his mother, Sandra Reed, who also is wanted for questioning, police said.

Houser has been charged as an adult with three counts of criminal attempt at homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal conspiracy in the 2:09 a.m. shooting on the corner of Hollywell Avenue and South Street, police said.

The same charges also have been filed against Carlos Rodriguez Johnson, 18, whose last known address was 30 W. South St. and formerly of Norfolk, Va., police said.

Johnson is being held at the Washington County Detention Center awaiting trial on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving false information to a police officer, police said.

Johnson and Donald Troy Houser, 24, of 30 W. South St., were two of four people arrested by Washington County narcotics agents on July 28 at an apartment leased to Jennifer L. Harne, 19, who has made a public appeal for money to cover the cost of a double lung transplant.

Donald Houser is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving false information to a police officer. He also was wanted on a failure to appear in court charge in Worcester County, Md., relating to a 1992 battery charge.

Donald Houser has not been charged in the shooting incident.

Police also have charged Waseem I. Malik, 19, of 956 S. Fifth St., with two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of aggravated assault, police said.

Malik was arraigned Tuesday before District Justice Gary Carter and released after posting $50,000 bail, police said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 28.

A large group of people was standing on the sidewalk across from the Laurel Lodge IBPOE when a vehicle with an undetermined number of occupants crossed over the railroad tracks heading east and began firing into the crowd, police said.

Damon L. Bryant, 20, of 40 S. Main St., was shot in the left leg, shattering the femur, police said. He was treated at York Hospital, York, Pa.

Charles D. Green, 22, of 75 W. South St., was shot in the chest and the left wrist and treated at Chambersburg Hospital, police said.
