Woman injured in wreck

August 13, 1997

INWOOD, W.Va. - A Berkeley County woman was treated and released from Martinsburg City Hospital Tuesday after her car was struck by a tractor-trailer on W.Va. 51, West Virginia State Police said

Shannon Hiett of Glenwood Forest was stopped in traffic in the westbound lane due to another accident when the trailer of the eastbound rig struck her Volkswagen Rabbit. State police said she suffered minor injuries, but her car was heavily damaged.

The driver of the truck, Jerry Rhinehart of New Market, Va., was unhurt.

Hiett was stopped because of a 2:10 p.m. accident nearby in which a pickup truck driven by James Minghini, of Glengary, ran off the road and rolled about 20 feet down an embankment, police said. He was unhurt, police said.
