Carnival equipment stolen in Jefferson

FREDERICK, Md. - Carnival equipment worth $837, including a kareoke machine, was reported stolen on Sunday from a trailer at the Jefferson (Md.) Fire Department, Maryland State Police said.

Visual equipment and tools were also taken from the trailer.

Stereo stolen from vehicle

FREDERICK, Md. - A stereo valued at $300 was reported stolen from a vehicle on Sunday, Maryland State Police reported.

Charles Summers of Frederick told troopers his Jeep was parked overnight at Gambrill Park Road and U.S. 40.

Hagerstown woman arrested in fight

FREDERICK, Md. - A Hagerstown woman was one of three people arrested early Friday during a fight in the parking lot of the Exhale nightclub in Frederick.


Julia Lorraine Flora, 27, of Noland Drive, Hagerstown, was charged with disorderly conduct, according to Frederick City Police.

Christy Ann Whittington, 23, of West 13th Street, was charged with second-degree assault, police said.

Whittington and Flora were seen fighting in the lot around 1:45 a.m. when officers arrived in response to a call for trouble.

During the incident, another woman became loud and abusive toward the nightclub staff after being advised to leave because of her behavior.

When she refused repeated orders to leave, Andrianne Catherine Dennis, 24, of West Patrick Street, was charged with disorderly conduct.

$1,200 in tools taken from home

HANCOCK - Tools valued at more than $1,200 have been reported stolen from a house on White Oak Ridge, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said Thursday.

The theft occurred between July 15-18, deputies said.

A three-drawer Craftsman toolbox, which contained assorted sockets, wrenches and hand tools, was stolen. It was valued at $1,255.99.

The burglar apparently entered the home through an unlocked garage to the rear of the home, deputies said.

Hagerstown man punched in face

A Hagerstown man was punched in the face Thursday morning, Hagerstown City Police said.

Charles Howard Dunnigan, 62, of 7 E. Washington St., was assaulted at about 7:30 a.m. in front of the Alexander House, police said.

Sgt. Kenneth Wasilius said the altercation apparently carried over from a dispute the night before.

Dunnigan went to Washington County Hospital on his own. He was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

Wasilius said Dunnigan told police that he was assaulted by a man named Bill.

The investigation is continuing.
