Cigarettes suspected in fires

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two mulch fires that were called in within minutes of each other Sunday were believed to have been caused by discarded cigarettes, fire officials said.

The first was reported near the entrance of Martinsburg City Hospital at 3:08 p.m. and was quickly put out.

At 3:13 p.m. another fire was called in from 902 N. Queen St. That was also quickly put out and neither fire caused any structural damage, the official said.
