I-81 wreck injures 3

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - West Virginia State Police said three members of a Winchester, Va., family were taken to Winchester Medical Center after their car rolled over Sunday on Interstate 81.

The accident occurred just after 4 p.m. about a mile south of Exit 12 when a southbound minivan driven by Robert Lutjan of Roanoke, Va., switched from the right to the left lane, police said. Carmel M. Taibia-Lehn, 42, of Winchester, drove onto the berm to avoid a collision and lost control of her car, flipping it over, police said.

State police said their injuries did not appear to be serious. Lehn and the other two people in the car, M. Dale Lehn, 49, and 6-year-old Nicholas W. Lehn, were still being evaluated at the hospital at 10 p.m., a spokesman said.

Lutjan used his car cellular phone to report the accident, which is still under investigation, police said.

SHEPHERDSTOWN W.Va. - West Virginia State Police responded to a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon on Falling Waters Road near Jefferson High School.

Police said the accident happened at 2:21 p.m. and involved a rider from Reston, Va. The name of the operator, whether he or she was injured and other details of the accident were unavailable.
