A Hagerstown man admitted in Washington County Circuit Court Monday that he touched a young boy on the leg near his genital area last September 21.
Kenneth Eugene Case, 22, of the 400 block of Mitchell Avenue, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree sex offense. Additional charges of assault and battery were dropped in exchange for the plea.
Judge Kennedy Boone gave Case a one-year suspended sentence in the Washington County Detention Center and placed him on three years probation.
Case told police he thought he had only touched the boy on the leg.
The incident occurred on Sept. 21, 1996, in the 400 block of Fremont Street, and a witness reported it to Hagerstown City Police.
