Hagerstown City Council members have selected William Divelbiss, manager of Rose Hill Cemetery, to be the city's representative on the new tourism board, said City Clerk Gann Breichner.
Members of the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau are to formally vote on the appointments of Divelbiss and other nominees on July 31.
Council members also appointed a new member to the Preservation Design District Commission during their Tuesday night meeting.
Robert K. Edmiston, director of real estate for the Association for the Preservation of Civil War Sites Inc., was appointed to a term through June 30, 2000, Breichner said.
Edmiston replaces Wally McClure, who had to step down from the commission because he was elected to City Council.
