Storm causes damage in area

July 10, 1997

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Winds and rain from a brief but violent thunderstorm that swept through the area late Wednesday afternoon downed trees, branches and wires and flooded streets.

Firemen at Wayneboro's Always There Hook and Ladder Company said they received 15 calls reporting storm-related damage.

The downpour caused drains to clog in Waynesboro and flooded some streets.

Two side-by-side billboards on Potomac Street on the outskirts of town were knocked down by heavy winds.
