HALFWAY - A Hagerstown man was critically injured Tuesday night when he was struck by a car on the ramp from Halfway Boulevard to the northbound Interstate 81, Maryland State Police said.
Brandon David Pile, 21, of Woodburn Drive, was in critical condition in Washington County Hospital's intensive-care unit Tuesday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
According to police, a 1989 Plymouth car struck Pile at about 6:30 p.m. The vehicle was driven by Nathaniel Andre Johnson, 41, of Baltimore.
The car's windshield was damaged in the accident, but Johnson was not hurt, police said.
Trooper 1st Class Charles Faith is investigating the accident, police said.
