Thousands lose power in Frederick

June 22, 1997

FREDERICK, Md. - Problems at a substation took out power to about 7,000 customers from shortly before 8 p.m. to shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, City of Frederick and Allegheny Power officials said.

Affected areas included the "Golden Mile" along U.S. 40, officials said.

The power outage suspended a Frederick Keys game against the Durham Bulls in the fourth inning at Harry Grove stadium, according to the Keys organization. The game will be resumed on Aug. 5 when the Bulls return to Frederick for a three game series.
