CLARKSBURG, W. Va. - Miss Berkeley County Traci Staley won a preliminary swimsuit and evening wear competition at the Miss West Virginia Pageant Friday night.
Staley, first runner-up a year ago, joined Miss North Central Eisa Krushansky and Miss Harrison County Jodi Clark with preliminary wins. Krushansky, who finished in the top five last year, won the swimsuit prelim Thursday night and the talent prelim Friday. Clark won Thursday night's talent preliminary.
The 10 contestants with the highest scores following preliminary competitions will compete in the finals tonight.
Miss West Virginia Kari Anne Safford will crown her successor on Saturday night at Robert C. Byrd High School.
In all, about $20,000 in cash scholarships will go to pageant winners, and the winner will compete in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant in Atlantic City in September.
