June 16, 1997

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Martinsburg, W.Va., man died early Sunday after his truck drove into a yard and struck a car parked in a driveway, according to West Virginia State Police.

David James Dourakos, 35, was pronounced dead at City Hospital, police said.

The accident occurred about 1 a.m. on Opequon Road off Scrabble Road, police said.

Troopers believe Dourakos was traveling east when his Chevrolet Blazer crossed the center line, went off the road and into a yard, eventually colliding with a parked, unoccupied Pontiac Sunfire.

The impact pushed the car into the house, police said. Damage to the house was unclear.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, police said.
