HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Harpers Ferry, W.Va., re-elected familiar faces Tuesday night in the town's election as the candidates ran largely unopposed. Six candidates sought five seats on the council.
Mayor Walton "Kip" Stowell received 78 votes. He ran unopposed.
Recorder John F. Hughes, also unopposed, received 80 votes.
On the council, Linda Rago led with 78 votes, followed by Annette Hale, 71, Carole Carter, 69, Peter Bradford, 68, and Dan Riss, 57. Rago, Hale, Carter and Bradford were incumbents.
Unable to win a seat was Robert Brzostowski, who received 34 votes.
All were elected to two-year terms.
There were 91 votes cast out of 200 registered voters.
