Information leading to the capture of a prison walkaway could be worth $1,000, now that the case has been referred to Crime Solvers of Washington County.
Diamond Christopher Scott, a former Hagerstown high school basketball star who was serving five years for robbery at the Maryland Correctional Training Center, failed to report back to prison Tuesday evening from a work-release program.
Scott was still at large at presstime, Maryland State Police said.
Scott, 18, is described as black, 6 feet 3 inches tall, and weighing about 195 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Scott received a five-year prison sentence in the August 1994 armed robbery of a couple in Hagerstown City Park and a concurrent sentence in the November 1994 armed robbery of a convenience store, according to court records.
