Nazi flag is flown

Hagerstown City Police are investigating an incident in which a Nazi flag was hung where the CSX flag had been flying in the 300 block of South Burhans Boulevard near the rail yard.

Police have no suspects. Witnesses can call 301-790-3700.

Petry hearing June 12

A preliminary hearing will be held on June 12 for a Hancock area man charged in a counterfeiting scheme, according to documents filed in Washington County District Court.

Jerry Edwin Petry was charged with two counts of forgery of public documents and two counts of uttering forged currency.

Petry was taken into custody on Wednesday. He is charged with using a personal computer and printer to create between 200 to 350 $100 bills beginning in April, according to court records.


Man faces drug charge

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A traffic stop by city police Thursday resulted in a crack cocaine arrest, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Martinsburg Police Detectives George Swartwood and Kevin Miller stopped a car in the 700 block of Second Street after it appeared that the car attempted to elude the officers, according to court records.

A man was spotted in the back seat of the car with an opened can of beer, said court records. Police searched the man and found 12 plastic bags containing a white chunky substance, said court records.

Travis Winfield Johnson, 22, of 5111/2 Wilson St., Martinsburg, was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, said court records.
