Woman charged after traffic stop

FREDERICK, Md. - A Kearneysville, W.Va., woman was charged with driving while intoxicated and drug possession following a traffic stop on U.S. 15 early Sunday, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

At 1:49 a.m., Patricia Estella Reed, 29, of 202 Cedar Drive, was southbound on U.S. 15, just south of Rosemont Avenue, when a Sheriff's deputy observed her car weaving across the lane markings, police said.

After the woman failed a field sobriety test, she was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said.

A subsequent search revealed 25.2 grams of suspected marijuana and a drug-smoking pipe in her purse, police said.

Reed was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to drive to the right of center, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and possession of paraphernalia, police said.

She was being held Sunday at Frederick County Adult Detention Center on $25,000 bond.

Equipment, CDs stolen from vehicle

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - More than $1,100 worth of electronic equipment and compact discs was reported stolen from a parked vehicle in Greene Township over the weekend, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The theft occurred between 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at the victim's home on East Main Street in Fayetteville, Pa., police said.

A Sony portable compact disc player, a Motorola cellular flip phone and an assortment of 28 compact discs - with total value estimated at $1,145 - were taken, police said.

Truck crashes into storage building

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A pickup truck that strayed from the road struck a storage building and damaged a 1978 Cadillac stored inside the building, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Steven D. Cook, of 4612 Carbaugh Road, Fayetteville, Pa., was treated and released for minor injuries at Chambersburg Hospital following the 4:23 a.m. incident at 11217 South Mountain Road, , police said. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, police said.

Cook was traveling east on South Mountain Road and lost control of his 1989 Ford F250 truck, according to a police report. Cook crossed the center line of the road and traveled up an embankment where he then struck the building, police said.

Man injured in Sunday fight

A man who got into a fight with two men in the 400 block of Jonathan Street Sunday night was taken to Washington County Hospital with minor injuries, Hagerstown City Police said.

Sgt. Gary Spielman said the man apparently became involved in an altercation when two black men struck him. The victim's name was not available Sunday night.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m., Spielman said. The black men left the scene before officers arrived. He said officers were trying to locate the men Sunday night.

Prostitution sting nets 17 men

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department arrested 17 men during a weekend sting targeting prostitution, authorities said.

During Friday and Saturday, undercover officers arrested seven men in the area of North Market and 7th streets, police said. The following were charged with solicitation for lewdness:

  • Dennis Teel, 37, of Clopper Road in Gaithersburg, Md.
  • Kewannie Edwards, 30, of E. 5th St. in Frederick.
  • David Ryan Pittman, 23, of E. 4th St. in Frederick.
  • Brockett Patrick Ian Lang, 20, of Hall Road in Frederick.
  • Robert Henry Dunn Jr., 47, of East South Street in Frederick.
  • Martin Olquin Agustin, 20, of Taney Avenue in Frederick. He was also charged with DWI and driving without a license.


In addition, Alfred Francis Spriggs Jr., 44, of Maple Terrace in Brunswick, Md., was charged with indecent exposure and solicitation for prostitution.

On Saturday and Sunday, police arrested 10 men in the area of West South and Center streets, police said.

  • Leslie William Dorsey, 36, of Double Brand Court in Frederick. He was charged with solicitation for prostitution.
  • Patrick Arthur Voit, 35, of St. Lawrence Court in Frederick. He was charged with solicitation for prostitution and purchase of a non-controlled dangerous substance, a substance that looks, smells, tastes and feels like crack.
  • Yacouba Romba, 20, of West South Street in Frederick. He was charged with solicitation for prostitution.
  • John Francis Kemp, 29, of Talbert Run Road in Mt. Airy, Md. He was charged with solicitation for prostitution.
  • Conner Hedges Gross, 68, of Broadway in Frederick. He was charged with solicitation for prostitution.
  • Benjamin Franklin Plummer, 53, of Carlton Drive in Frederick. He was charged with solicitation for prostitution.
  • Guthrie Mark Peterson, 34, of West South Street in Frederick. He was charged with solicitation for prostitution and solicitation for lewdness.


In addition, the following were charged with other offenses:

  • Robert Anthony Seubert Jr., 39, of Laytonsville Road in Laytonsville, Md. He was charged with possession of marijuana.
  • Alphonso Ellis Kirkwood, 37, of North Bentz Street in Frederick. He was charged with purchasing a non-controlled dangerous substance.
  • Rondorian Wayne Cartnail, 20, of West All Saints Street in Frederick. He was charged with driving on a revoked license.
