April 06, 1997

FREDERICK, Md. - A single mother of two was killed early Saturday when the Jeep Cherokee she was driving struck a bridge on U.S. 40, according to Maryland State Police.

Kerry Sue Evy-Naill, 29, of 9305 Oak Springs Court, was traveling east on U.S. 40 just west of Frederick at about 1:50 a.m. Her Cherokee struck the bridge on U.S. 40 over the ramp to westbound Interstate 70 and flipped over. Evy-Naill was ejected in the accident, which police believe was speed-related.

Evy-Naill worked in the warehouse of Morningstar Dairy, was a part-time home assistant nurse and was studying at Frederick Community College to be a nurse, sister Kerry Naill said.

Evy-Naill has two daughters, Holly, 9, and Katie, 6, her sister said. Evy-Naill grew up in Silver Spring, Md., and Damascus, Md., before moving to the Frederick area about 10 years ago, her sister said.
