Miller retires on Monday from city housing agency

March 28, 1997

Control of the Hagerstown Housing Authority is set to switch hands Monday with the retirement of Executive Director Roger Miller.

Ted Shankle, of Frederick, Md., should take over Miller's job on Tuesday.

Shankle's experience includes managing retirement communities in Florida and helping Rosemary Village Cooperative in Silver Spring, Md., recover after the co-op ran into financial problems.

Miller became executive director in 1981 after Norman Foltz retired.

The authority provides housing for about 1,180 low-income families and senior citizens.
