MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Police are analzying suspected blood found in the home of a Berkeley County woman whose body was found stuffed in a sofa bed discarded on a city street, Berkeley County Prosecutor Pamela Games-Neely said.
Samples of the blood have been sent to the West Virginia State Police crime lab for tests, Games-Neely said. "The results could be extremely telling," she said.
Police searched the Inwood, W.Va., home of the victim, Erica E. Birdsall, on March 15 after the body had been identified. Birdsall, 57, had been repeatedly stabbed in the chest and stomach, officials said.
