The driver of the truck carrying cement, Samuel Wayne Stern, 48, of Martinsburg, Pa., was treated and released from Washington County Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

According to police, Stern was driving north on I-81 at about 10:15 a.m. when he tried to change lanes. His truck collided with another truck and overturned to the side of the highway near U.S. 11, police said.

The driver of the other truck, Kenneth Anthony Groome, 34, of Rocky Face, Ga., was not hurt, police said.

Two charged in eatery burglary

Washington County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested two youths Thursday in connection with a burglary.

A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old each were charged with third-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property over $300.

The juveniles admitted to breaking into Kerch's Ribs & Chicken on Pennsylvania Avenue and stealing a large amount of money on Sunday morning, police said. They said another person drove them into Pennsylvania, where they split the money at a motel on U.S. 11, police said.

Police said $2,944 was stolen and officers recovered $1,500 from the youths who were arrested.

Police said they anticipate two more arrests in the case.

Cash, check stolen from animal clinic

About $200 and several personal checks were stolen from Antietam Valley Animal Clinic Thursday afternoon, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

Between 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m., someone slipped into the clinic on National Pike through an unlocked door and stole the items, deputies said.

The personal checks were made out to Dr. Franklin Wagner, police said.
