Washington County Board of Education employees may attend a meeting of their employee group leaders and the Washington County Commissioners from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Board of Education's central office.
The meeting will focus on funding for public education, said Bill Greenwald, president of the Washington County Teachers Association.
A representative from Robert Pellicoro and Associates accounting firm will make a presentation on the Board of Commissioners' funding options for the school system based on financial information gathered from public records, Greenwald said.
After the presentation, school system employees will be given the floor, he said.
Greenwald said he's expecting at least three County Commissioners, including Commission President Gregory I. Snook, to attend the meeting.
The school board will present its 1997-98 budget to the Board of Commissioners on March 25.
The county provided just under half of this year's $96.3 million unrestricted budget.
