Pa. convenience store broken into

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Blue Chip Mini-Mart at 2018 Lincoln Way East was broken into early Wednesday, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg.

Once inside, though, the would-be thieves apparently took nothing, police said.

The incident was reported at 2:50 a.m.

Man, woman face drug charges

KNOXVILLE - The Washington County Narcotics Task Force arrested a Brunswick, Md., man and woman Tuesday night on crack cocaine charges.

According to police, the Brunswick Police Department contacted the task force with information that there was suspected drug activity in the Hillside Motel, on Keep Tryst Road.


Agents from the task force knocked on the door of Room 21 at the hotel at about 8:40 p.m. When the door opened, officers realized that one of the occupants was attempting to destroy the substance, police said.

When agents entered the room, they seized a quantity of crack consistent with intent to distribute, police said.

Thomas A. Conner, 21 and Sarah Ellen Spencer Cooper, 21, both of 536 Brunswick Ave., were charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of crack and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Woman charged with hiding suspect

FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick woman was arrested Wednesday for hiding a suspect wanted by the Frederick County Sheriff's Department, according to the Frederick Police Department.

Patricia Elaine Thompson, 35, of 278 Phebus Ave., was charged with obstructing and hindering a police officer.

Police said they went to the woman's home several times during the morning after receiving information that the suspect was inside.

At 10:40 a.m., the woman allowed two officers into the home, police said. Once inside, a search revealed that the suspect was hiding in a closet, police said.
