Car found missing at car dealership

Routine inventory at Hagerstown Ford in Halfway has turned up a missing Mustang, according to Washington County sheriff's deputies.

The 1996 model is a black two-door, deputies said. It had no tags on it when it was on the lot.

Chevrolet Caprice reported stolen

The owner of a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice called Washington County sheriff's deputies Tuesday morning to report the vehicle had been stolen overnight from in front of 18531 Showalter Road.

The blue over white car has Md. tags CJX 775.

Antique shop broken into

Someone broke into an antique shop at 7700 Old National Pike in Boonsboro overnight but apparently nothing was taken, according to Washington County Sheriff's deputies.


The door was found kicked in Tuesday morning, deputies said.

Door kicked in at Boy Scout building

A door was kicked in at the Boy Scout building in Byron Park in Williamsport Monday but thieves apparently took nothing, according to Washington County sheriff's deputies.

Home ransacked; items stolen

A Washington County home was burglarized and ransacked Tuesday, Maryland State Police said.

The homeowner discovered at about 4:50 p.m. that the house had been burglarized. The burglar gained entry by opening a first-floor kitchen window.

A 200-pound Cample-Hausfield four-horsepower, wheeled air compressor was stolen along with a Hitachi power nailer and an old radio converted into a compact disc case with 70 CDs inside, police said.

The stolen goods were valued at about $2,000, police said.

Man charged with breaking into home

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Sheriff's Department Tuesday charged a man with breaking into a home at Denton Court and threatening a woman.

William A. Clinton, 37, of Waverly Drive in Frederick, Md., was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment, police said.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at about 10 a.m., police said. The burglar broke out the front window and entered the house, police said.

Once inside, the burglar took a butcher knife from the kitchen and threatened a woman's life, police said.

No one was injured, police said.

Man charged with assaulting wife

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department Tuesday charged a Frederick man with assaulting his wife.

When Officer Peter Baker arrived at the home at about 9:20 a.m., he noticed a four-inch scrape down one side of the woman's neck.

Ernest Eugene Smith, 41, of the 8000 block of Blackhall Court, was charged with second-degree assault, police said.

Electronic gear stolen from trucks

Electronic equipment valued at $925 was taken from three trucks parked at Expedited Services at 14728 Crown Lane in Williamsport Monday, according to Washington County sheriff's deputies.

Taken were two Emerson televisions, one Emerson VCR and a Cobra CB radio.
