MONT ALTO, Pa. - Another Mont Alto public official has called it quits.
Mayor Richard J. Thomas Jr., citing personal reasons, resigned effective at the borough meeting Tuesday night, said acting Council President Thomas Lowson.
Only four people are on the council - three others have quit this year.
Franklin County Judge John Walker appointed Charlene McKean to fill one of the vacancies, but she hasn't been sworn in yet, Lowson said.
"We've had quite a turnover," he said.
The council is seeking volunteers for the remaining slots and for mayor. Volunteers must submit a letter to borough Secretary Patty Kocek. Council members and the mayor do not receive a salary.
