Hedgesville man dies in auto accident

November 19, 1996

LEETOWN, W.Va. - A Hedgesville man died Monday after the car he was driving crossed the center line on Sulphur Springs Road and collided head-on with a pickup truck, according to the West Virginia State Police.

The victim was identified as Darrell Wayne Graham, 39, according to State Trooper Scott Dillon.

The crash happened at 2:25 p.m. in front of the Cedar Grove Grocery, Dillon said.

Beer cans were found in Graham's car, but it has not been determined whether alcohol was a factor in the crash, Dillon said.

The driver of the pickup, Randolph William Whittington, 25, of Kearneysville, was hospitalized, but his condition was not available Monday night.
