Six homeless after W.Va. mobile home fire

November 15, 1996

MARLOWE, W.Va. - Six people including a child were left homeless Friday when a fire destroyed their mobile home on High Cliff Circle in the Potomac Hills subdivision in northern Berkeley County, a Bedington Volunteer Fire Department official said.

No one was hurt, but one of two family dogs died, officials said.

The call came in at 7:59 a.m. The fire was discovered by the child who saw smoke coming from a front bedroom, officials said. The fire, believed to be accidental, started in the bedroom, officials said. The cause is still undetermined.

The names of those left homeless in the fire were not disclosed. The home was rented, officials said.
